No Money, No Problem: New looks on a Budget!

Hey Fashionistas,

Have you ever experienced a time where you had an event to attend, but felt like you did not have anything to wear? Or wanted a new outfit, but did not have the money to get anything new just yet? Well let me tell you that I have been through this dilemma plenty of times. However, I did not let that let that deter my fashion spirit! I started to create new looks within my closet. This really helps when you have key pieces in your wardrobe, such as a blazer, statement jewelry, a cardigan, or a printed scarf.

Nevertheless, you still can create different looks without these key pieces. The main thing is to make a simple ensemble, more of a wow factor. Accessories can turn an outfit from blah to more interesting. Also, you can just change how you wear a particular outfit. Explore your closet, pick an item, and dress it in many ways that you can to create a new look for you!

Fashion Stylist Boot Camp!

Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos,

Two weekends ago I had the privilege of attending celebrity stylist Jason Bolin’s Fashion Stylist Boot Camp. It was an amazing experience. I was a sponge the entire time, soaking in all the knowledge I was given. I was able to learn about my craft with other fellow fashion stylist; which was a great bonding experience. Being in a room full of people who are trying to pursue the same industry was an awesome feeling. We all were able to learn from each other.

The boot camp was from 8:30am to 6pm. Even though we were there for that long period, I was engaged the whole time and did not become bored once. I guess it’s true, when people say when you do what you love, it never feels like work. Throughout the session we did different activities individually and with a partner. These exercises were really fun to do and came with a twist. Also, we learned about the business side of being a stylist. This part was very informative. Being in this business can really be cut throat, but you have to stay professional and put the work in to be successful at what you do. We were given some words of wisdom from guest speaker Kimberly Jones Pothier. Her words really touched me, and they were definitely needed. One thing that caught my attention is when she said "be unapologetically you!" This quote was definitely meant for my ears.

Jason Bolin was really cool and a down to earth guy. He told us about his journey becoming a celebrity stylist and how you have to be confident. If you don’t believe you are needed in this industry, no one will. Overall, I had a great time learning from him. It gave me the confidence and motivation I needed to keep pursuing my career goals and not give up. If any of you get the opportunity to attend one of his boot camps, you should definitely go!

OMG!!!

Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos,

There's this celebrity stylist by the name Jason Bolin. He's worked with many well-known celebrities. He's held celebrity fashion stylist boot camps in different cities. The best part is that he's having one later on this month. I GET TO ATTEND!! I'm so excited! I get to learn and interact with other aspiring fashion stylists like myself. This will definitely be an eye-opening experience for me. I can't wait! I'll make sure I fill you all in on how it turns out!!
