Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos,

This past weekend I was given the opportunity to assist in styling for Surround Sound of Fashion's promo shoot. The model for the photoshoot was 2016 SSOF Female Brand Ambassador Yordanos Ghdey. She did an amazing job and was really nice. I enjoyed working with her.

Some of the designers used for the shoot were Iridium and Kiwi's Boutique. They are both located in the Chicago area. The Makeup artist, Landis did a great job. In between shots I was able to hear about how he got started doing makeup. Also, the photographer, Mike Jue helped create the vision of each shot with different settings within his studio. I thought it was really dope. This was my first time styling for a photoshoot at this level. Definitely enjoyed every moment of it and learned a lot. Check out behind the scenes of the photoshoot!

Snapshots

Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos,

The snapshots of this week are from W magazine. The three young ladies to grace the cover are Kiernan Shipka, Zendaya Coleman, and Willow Smith. These ladies are "next in line."

Willow looks absolutely fierce! Definitely runway worthy. Check out the safety pins in her hair.

Zendaya is such a fashionista. I still love the short cut on her.

Kiernan is slaying as well.

The Weeknd, Michael Strahan, and Common are all looking dapper.

Cate Blanchett is wearing Armani. Mindy Kaling is wearing Elizabeth Kennedy.

Olivia Wilde is wearing Valentino. Margo Robbie is wearing Tom Ford. Olivia Munn is wearing Stella McCartney.

Charlize Theron is wearing Dior. Lady Gaga is wearing Brandon Maxwell.

Rachel McAdams is wearing August Getty. Andra Day is wearing SAFiYAA. Sofia Vergara is wearing Marchesa.

I would say my favorite is Lady Gaga. Throughout her career, she usually wore costumes, but here she switched it up and wowed us! What's your favorite? Comment below.

Grammys Red Carpet 2016!

Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos,

Did you catch the Grammys this past Monday? Definitely a must watch for all the music lovers like myself. However, like many award shows, many celebrities walk the red carpet expressing their sense of style. They may wow us or disappoint. Let's check them out!

Get Styled!

Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos,

This past Sunday I participated in a styling event presented by Var’geez Productions. The event was called Get Styled and held at the Spoil Me Hair Salon. It was really fun. I definitely enjoyed myself.

The day started out with all of the stylists figuring out whom their models were. We each were paired with one or two models. There were four boutiques in attendance that were gracious enough to let us use their clothing to style our models. Along with the boutiques were people there to do hair and makeup for each model. My model’s name was Gladys; I’ve worked with her before a few months back. For her look I chose neutral makeup and a topknot hairstyle. I created a sophisticated ensemble for Gladys. I chose pieces from Doll Revolution and Angela Boutique.

She's wearing a tan duster (Angela Boutique) paired with a bold orange blouse (Doll Revolution) that I tucked into her leggings. The statement necklace she is wearing is also from Angela Boutique and she's wearing peep toe nude wedges from her closet.To accentuate her waist I wanted to use a belt, but could not find one, so I used the one I was wearing. You have to work with what you have right? It worked perfectly. Many people liked how I put the different pieces together. Even with one of the boutiques I used, the owner personally told me they loved what I did with their piece. That was a great feeling. I enjoyed doing it. I do it because it's exciting!

Overall, we ended up presenting our looks to the audience and mingling with everyone. I am grateful for the experience and cannot wait for my upcoming styling ventures.

Fashion Trends Reloaded!

Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos,

It's a new year! Guess what? Trends, trends, trends! Get ready to pull out some items that may have been in your closet for a while, or some items you may have interest in purchasing. Each season is all about creating something new with your style. Let's check out the trends coming your way!

The first few trends are tye-dye, pleats, and a half-moon bag.

Next, is lace, the paper bag waist, and suede.

Lastly, is fringe, the LBJ (little black jumpsuit), and Metallic makeup.

Many are used to rocking the little black dress. Now it's the little black jumpsuit's turn! Here's an idea on how to put the look together.

I also paired the paper bag waist trend with the half-moon bag.
